We had a Year 4-6 TRY-athlon on Tuesday 16 March. We began with a run around the block, cycle around English Park and a short swim in our school pool to finish the race. The weather was beautiful and we had a fantastic time!
The results for our class were: Year 5 boys: 1st Charlie, 2nd Angus, 3rd Conor Year 5 girls: 1st Jessica, 2nd Kassie, 3rd India-Rose

AQUA-GYM
This term we travelled to Aqua-Gym to have swimming lessons every day for a week. We were put into small ability groups and taught correct techniques for freestyle, breast stroke and backstroke. Some of us were in the large lane pool and some were in the smaller pool.
SWIMMING SPORTS Swimming sports were held in Wk 4. We went to Jellie Park to compete in 50m or 25m events. Some of us competed in the fun events. CONGRATULATIONS to all those that competed. You did Room 7 and our school proud! Lauren was lucky enough to make the Zone Swimming Sports held the following day. She competed in the 50m freestyle and the 9yr relay team which won! Her team will compete in the Canterbury Swimming Sports. Well done Lauren!

MIHI
We have been learning to speak Maori. We have been practicing how to speak the vowel sounds correctly and have been learning these through songs. We are have written our own mihi and are practicing them with a buddy.
